Marantz 2225 Vintage Receiver – Restored And Beautiful

Description :
MARANTZ 2225 This is an absolutely outstanding Unit and was given a thorough rebuild by the incomparable Engineer Robert Bowdish of IRebuildMarantz. (http://www.irebuildmarantz.com) Being my personal Unit I am parting with it with great reluctance. It is well beyond the scope of a listing to go into all the detail that went into the refurbishing of this beauty, but in part from Rob's site: "What's Included in Our Restoration Service? Full replacement of EVERY aluminum electrolytic capacitor in the receiver with 105c rated (hi-temp) capacitors from the best manufacturers at one standard voltage level up from original (additional longevity) Full hand resolder of EVERY circuit board with silver solder, rosin flux LED lamp conversion (unit is 100% LED when complete) and new dial diffuser paper Marantz service bulletin mods to date All adjustments including AM and FM tuner alignments, amplifier bias and offset, MPX PLL freerun, stereo separation, power supply rail adjustment Full cleaning of every potentiometer, switch, switch bank, slip contact (including tuner capacitor gang), RCA and 1/4" jacks, interior and exterior cleaning Complete test, burn-in, and readjustments Miscellaneous glueing and repairs And, depending on the model of your receiver, you may also receive a new power cord and speaker protection relay. The receiver is like new in every way. It looks and sounds better than you have ever seen or heard it. The new parts and solder return the solidity to the receiver ensuring many years of trouble free operation. New LEDs mean you will probably never have to replace a lamp again (and they use less electricity)." Per Rob, he used the IRM super mod of metal film 1% resistors in the tone sections, foil coupling caps, etc. [Note the reference to full hand resoldering] Please visit Rob's Site and view the various links where you will find articles on his work, including an article from THE premier authority on high-end audio, Stereophile Magazine.
